Help create safe, high-quality homes our customers can be proud of

At Abri, we're passionate about creating places where people can thrive. Our Electrical Empty Homes and Improvements & Testing team plays a vital role in making that happen, ensuring customers move into safe, compliant, and well-maintained homes while supporting improvements across our communities.

We're looking for a skilled Electrician to join our team, covering Yeovil and the surrounding areas.

What you'll be doing

No two days are the same in this role. You'll play a key part in preparing our empty homes for new customers, carrying out electrical testing, inspections, repairs and installations that help us deliver homes that are safe, compliant and ready to welcome people home.

Alongside our empty homes programme, you'll also support:

  • Electrical inspections and testing across our homes and communal areas
  • Responsive repairs that keep our customers safe and comfortable
  • Planned improvement works, including kitchen, bathroom and heating upgrades
  • Communal lighting improvements and electrical enhancements across our neighbourhoods

Making a difference where it matters

Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. That's why we're looking for someone who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and exceptional customer service.

You'll be a friendly and professional ambassador for Abri, working in customers' homes and communities, building trust and leaving every job completed to the highest standard.

What we're looking for

You'll bring:

  • The latest 18th Edition qualification
  • Experience working as an Electrician carrying out testing, repairs and installations
  • A customer-focused approach and a positive, can-do attitude
  • Knowledge of NICEIC certification or similar compliance software
  • A full UK driving licence

Experience within social housing would be beneficial, but most importantly we're looking for someone who shares our commitment to great service and quality work.

What you'll get in return

We'll make sure you have everything you need to do your best work, including:

  • Company van equipped with van vault, racking and inverter
  • Fuel card
  • Company tablet and mobile phone
  • Full uniform and PPE

You'll also enjoy a great range of benefits from day one, including:

INDABRI

Abri is a large housing provider who own and manage more than 58,000 homes and various community assets, serving around 113,000 customers across the South of England.

We believe everyone has the right to a good quality safe, warm and sustainable home in a community where they can belong, grow and thrive. What does that look like in real terms?

We’re investing £689m over the next ten years in our existing homes to improve building safety and make them more energy efficient.

  • We’re delivering 10,000 homes by 2030, ensuring affordable housing is built where it’s needed most
  • We’re investing in our communities, to address local issues and create opportunities for everyone

As we grow, we’re re-establishing our strong local presence to provide a really good service. Abri has adopted a regional approach to service delivery, with our operating areas split into three, each with their local governance and leadership. This will ensure our colleagues are more visible, accountable and better connected to our customers and local communities to meet their diverse needs.

We also expect our colleagues to share Abri’s commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults.

If you share our values and want to make a real difference in the world, you’re on to a winner and we’d love to hear from you!
